Skills include, but are not limited to: project design, management, and reporting, community engagement and participatory planning, training design and facilitation, meeting design and facilitation, community meetings, retreats, strategic planning, relationship building and ongoing communication with staff/consultants and diverse project stakeholders, community research and evaluation including survey and focus group design, data collection/facilitation, data analysis, event planning, written and verbal presentations to clients including elected officials, community groups, and guided meditation.
Born in Bac Lieu, Vietnam & transplanted to Savannah, GA at the age of one, Thu has been a resident of Oakland, CA since 1989. She is a proud product of the public school system, after which Thu went on to receive a B.A. in Economics from Yale University. While at Yale she studied abroad at The University of Chile in Santiago exploring social & economic development issues in Chile. Thu then earned an MBA with an emphasis in real estate from U.C. Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. She is also a certified Compassion Fatigue Specialist. In her free time, Thu enjoys cooking, dancing, hiking, & exploring local & distant treasures.
