Post From Network Commons
The live conversation, which aired on March 29, 2024, explored how racial equity is understood in these two sectors and where public health and community development collaborations have been successful in improving population health and health equity and what it will take to move us forward.
Ruth Thomas-Squance, Co-Executive Director at BHPN led the dynamic conversation with an impressive panel of women leaders of color, working across the public health and community development sectors, as we explored opportunities for public health to implement racial equity goals through engagement with those shaping the built environment. The speakers discussed the recent launch of a primer that supports public health and community development collaboration for health equity, created from a partnership between Build Healthy Places Network and the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors.
