The Center for Community Investment, in collaboration with the Catholic Health Association, has published Investing in Community Health: A Toolkit for Hospitals.

Investing in Community Health invites hospital leaders and staff to add investment to their toolbox for improving community health and provides a blueprint for how to do so. The toolkit delves into key topics in the field, including distinguishing between financial contributions and investment strategies, understanding the value of investment strategies for addressing the social determinants of health, and creating an action plan for mobilizing investment capital and other assets to improve community health. In three accessible sections, the “how-to” guide spells out practical steps health care organizations can take to look at their resources in a different light, expand their efforts to support their communities, and maximize their impact on community health by harnessing the power of their investment capital.

Investing in Community Health is a must-read for hospital executives, as well community benefit, community health, health equity, community relations, and finance leaders and staff.
